14 Days of Agape - a FREE eBook

I have dreamed of this moment for like....oh...half of forever! (the other half was before I discovered the inner writer in me)

The idea to blog through 1 Corinthians 13 came to me this past fall as I began planning what I would be blogging about this year. 

But I wanted to do something different: I wanted to write about 1 Corinthians 13 from the perspective of the local church - and not romantic love. Because Paul used the Greek word Agape for love in this chapter, which is God's love that transcends all other kinds of love, and because Paul was writing to the church in Corinth - I felt it fit better to write from this perspective.

Usually I schedule blogs ahead of time - at least a week out, sometimes as much as a month out.  I do a lot of writing all at once and schedule my blogs. This helps with all of the other demands I have as a wife and mom who works from home.  However, coming off of my short "bloggy break" I didn't have any blogs for this series written yet.

And every time I sat down to start pounding out posts, I had a block. Nothing I came up with was adequate.

And thus I began my 14-day journey of blogging every day for 14 days in a row.  I have never done this in my collective 9 years of blogging.

It wasn't easy. In fact, during those 14 days I would sit down to try to work ahead - and again I would face a block.

I began to realize that this was how the Lord wanted this series to go.  Each day I would wake up with the verse in mind for that day and I would meditate on it all day.  I would ask myself: what did Paul mean by this? How does this apply to the church?  How can we show this kind of love to our local body?  How can Christians apply this and thus be a light to the world? How can this build and encourage the local body of Christ?

And what came out of these questions was something that totally revolutionized the way I view the local body, my relationship with my own local body, and my own overall view of love as a balance to righteousness and holiness.

As I drew toward the end of the series, the Lord spoke to me to blog the final post - day 14 - from Revelation 2 about the church in Ephesus. At first, I had no idea how this would fit. I had no concept of that passage fitting with 1 Corinthians 13.  But on day 14 I opened my Bible and literally got chills all up and down my spine as the final piece of the puzzle fit with amazing clarity and perfection. 

I realize that it is not easy to click and scroll through 14 blog posts. This is why I decided to take these posts and compile them in an eBook.
